TD039
released January 1, 2020
Okhotsk is the primary moniker of Fayetteville, Arkansas-based musician Jackson Lafargue. Jackson has been making solo recordings since 2007, but started the Okhotsk project in late 2015 after being asked to play a noise event at former Fayetteville DIY venue Lalaland. Overall, he has self-released 7 full-length albums and 6 EPs since 2007.
“Bad Blood” is a darker and more abrasive record than Jackson’s previous work as Okhotsk. Inspired by 90’s experimental electronic music, classic shoegaze, and noise, Jackson has crafted a tense record meant to reflect his frustrations with personal turmoil and with the turbulent state of the country.
Recorded from December 2018 to October 2019 at home.
